COFFEY, Herman L., age 73, of Bon Air, passed away on May 26, 2009, at Johnston- Willis Hospital after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sonya Coffey; his mother, Margaret A. Coffey; his sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Ed Brackett; his daughter and son-in-law, Emily and Robert Parrino; his son, Boake Allen, as well as his nephews and nieces and their families. He was predeceased by his father, Sidney Coffey; and his brother, Alvin Coffey. A long-time resident of Bon Air and an avid outdoorsman, Herman is also mourned by many close friends. Memorial services will be held on Friday, June 5, 2009 at 3 p.m. at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at 10300 Pridesville Road in Amelia, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Hunters for the Hungry.

Herman Lee Coffey and Sonya Lee Lindsey were married on 19 July 1963 in Richmond, Independent City, VA.⁴³⁴⁷² Sonya Lee Lindsey, daughter of Wayne Randolph Lindsey and Elizabeth Bell Daingerfield, was born on 25 August 1935 in Bristol, VA. Sonya died in Virginia on 1 March 2016 and was buried at Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Amelia Court House, Amelia Co., VA in March 2016 .⁴³⁴⁷³
