Kalama Woman is Dead

Mrs. Mary Eleanor Sheyehe [sic] [Sheythe] Taken Ill Suddenly on Train.

TACOMA. Wash., Nov. 4. - Mrs. Mary Eleanor Sheyehe, whose maiden name was Coffey, died at a local hospital today, aged 66 years. She was born in Chicago and crossed the plains with her family behind an ox team in 1832, settling in Marion County, Or. For the last 30 years she has lived at Kalama, Wash. She and her husband were on their way to Chicago when she was taken ill on the train about two weeks ago, and was removed from the car on reaching Tacoma.

Mrs. Sheyehe was a sister of G. M. [Green Monroe] Coffey, of Kalama. She leaves four children. The funeral will be held from the Congregational Church in Kalama Saturday.

Mary Eleanor Coffey and Thomas Simpson Poindexter were married circa 1860 in Lane Co., OR.⁹⁷⁶¹ They⁹⁷⁶¹ appeared in the census on 19 August 1870 in Peoria, Linn Co., OR.⁹⁷⁶² They⁹⁷⁶² were divorced in 1874.⁹⁷⁶³ Thomas Simpson Poindexter, son of Thomas Harris Poindexter and Maxy Wood, was born on 16 June 1820 in Jessamine Co., KY. Thomas died in Farmington, Washington Co., OR on 6 November 1888. Mountain View Cemetery in Farmington, Washington Co., OR in November 1888 .⁹⁷⁶⁴
