Melba Gladys Coffey was born on 17 June 1933 in Howard Co., AR. Melba died at DeQueen Medical Center in DeQueen, Sevier Co., AR on 24 December 2008 and was buried at Cossatot Cemetery in Sevier Co., AR on 27 December 2008 .17702

Melba Gladys Coffey Bledsoe Dockins, age 75, a resident of De Queen, Arkansas, and former resident of Grannis, Arkansas, died Wednesday, December 24, 2008 in the De Queen Medical Center.

She was born June 17, 1933 in Antimony City, Arkansas, to Carter Braxton and Goldia Mae Almond Coffey. She was an LPN, as well as a homemaker. She was a member of the Almond Church, and was a song writer. She enjoyed singing, gardening, flowers and writing songs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Urstin Coffey; three sisters, Dorothy Jackson, Fay Frachiseur, and Vernonia Hargis; and her husband, Arnold Dockins.

She is survived by one son, one brother, one sister, two grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 27, 2008, at the Almond Church with Bro. Homer Frachiseur and Bro. Steven Chenoweth officiating. Burial followed in the Cossatot Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home, De Queen.
