Jessie Earl Coffey, 75, a retired engineer, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999 at a Denton hospital. 

Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Christ the Great Shepherd Church, Dewey Lang and Jeff Long officiating. Burial: Sanger Cemetery. 

Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Coker Funeral Home. 

Jessie Coffey was born Oct. 9, 1924 in Sanger. He served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and a church secretary. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Earl and Alsie Marion Coffey; brother, Ardell Coffey; and sister, Marion Stinchcomb. 

Survivors: Wife, Ruth Coffey; daughter, Janice Hayes; sons, Bennie E. Coffey and Gaylen Coffey; sisters, Betty Coffey and Billie J. Coffey; brother, Wilborn Coffey; and grandchildren, Brandon Coffey, Christina Coffey, Jason Coffey, Charles Coffey and J. Frank Hayes.
