183. Fielding M. Coffey was born circa 1777. In 1800 he was on the tax rolls in Madison Co., KY.505 He appeared in the census in 1810 in Columbia, Adair Co., KY.506 Fielding appeared in the census on 7 August 1820 in Adair Co., KY.507 Fielding made his will on 14 November 1833 in Russell Co., KY.508,509 Last Will and Testament of Fielding Coffey, Russell Co., KY Extracted Dec 31, 2014 by Jack Coffee Original found at http://bit.ly/14bYstr Russell County State of Kentucky (?) A Will of (?) and personal Property November the 14th 1833 I Feledan Coffey of the county and State aforesaid Being in the fear of God and of a sound mind but aged and under the afflicting hand of Almighty God taking in consideration the certainty of death and the uncertainty of life do hereby make my last will and testament in manner and form that is to say – That first after my decease that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid together with what ever Interest I have promised to any person to be paid out of my estate. My two Negros Mandy Green (?) and Rachel be sold (?) to pay my (lower case s followed by lower case a over what appears to be the number 11) debts after which fursh (?) all the balance of my property both real and personal of whatsoever nature or kind this may be to be kept together for use and benefit of my children herein after named. Just so long as my children think proper to keep (?) and (?) together and when (?) (?) children think proper to break up house keeping and to separate their (?) my executor herein after named to make an equal division of the remaining part of my estate between my children Mahala Elizabeth Sealy Fieldin Louis Aley (Alice?) and the children of my son Thomas H. Coffey as one of my legal heirs, thirdly and of all I do hereby constitute and appoint my beloved Brother and friend [John] Hays Coffey my executor of this signed sealed and acknowledged in presents of us… [at the bottom is written “continued” but continuation not found.] [Emphasis mine.] [A wife and two other children attributed to Fielding, Celia and Isaac, are not mentioned in the will.] He died in Russell Co., KY between November 1833 and January 1834. His estate entered probate on 13 January 1834 in Russell Co., KY. His executor was his brother John Hays Coffey. Fielding M. Coffey and Celia Coffey were married on 13 March 1800 in Madison Co., KY.503,504 Celia Coffey, daughter of Joel Coffey and Martha Stepp (Stapp), was born circa 1777 in North Carolina. She appeared in the census on 12 September 1850 in Russell Co., KY.502 This is probably the daughter that married Fielding Coffey, a likely son of Nebuzaradan. She was referred to as "Jane Sealy" in Joel's 1789 will, and may be where the name "Sealy" originated. Marvin Coffey wrote that he had been unable to find any Sealy families in any Virginia or North Carolina county where Coffees are known to have lived. Fielding M.
