Robert W. Coffey and Sally Catherine Compton were married on 12 February 1890 in Adair Co., KY.^10397,10398 They^10397,10398 appeared in the census on 13 June 1900 in Keltner, Adair Co., KY.¹⁰³⁹⁹

The child Lillian in this census is apparently a daughter of Robert by a wife he took between Mary Ann Bennett and Sally Catherine Compton. He did report having been married three times in the 1910 census.

A marriage record for him in Adair county has not been located but, there is one for a R. W. or Robert W. Coffey. age 25. born 1857 and dated 1 Jul 1882 in Taylor Co., KY. The county seat of Taylor is Campbellsville and is roughly 30 miles from Gradyville where Robert lived.

The bride in that record was Martha Taylor, age 19, born c1863. I have not placed her here as his wife because I have seen only an index entry and not an actual document that would show whether or not the birthdate of 1857 is an accurate transcription.

They¹⁰³⁹⁹ appeared in the census on 16 April 1910 in West Columbia Twp., Adair Co., KY.¹⁰⁴⁰⁰ Sally Catherine Compton was born on 27 January 1863 in Kentucky. Sally died on 29 April 1922 at the age of 59 in Columbia, Adair Co., KY and was buried at Columbia City Cemetery in Columbia, Adair Co., KY.^10401,10402
