Robert Owen "Bob" Coffey, 67, died March 26, 2007, at his home, Hutchinson.

He was born Oct. 4, 1939, in Fairview, Okla., the son of Alva James Coffey and Itha Gertrude McDowell-Coffey-Henson. In 1958, he graduated from Capron, Okla. High School, Capron, and attended college in Alva, Okla. A resident of Hutchinson since 1962, he was an optician for Payton Optical for 41 years.

He belonged to Crossroads Christian Church. He was past district deputy grand master of AF&AM Grand Lodge of Kansas, past master/current junior warden of Hutchinson Reno Masonic Lodge No. 124 AF&AM; two-time recipient of the Master of the Year Award, 32nd Degree member of Scottish Rite of Free Masonry - Valley of Wichita, past president/current secretary of Reno Rice Scottish Rite Club of Hutchinson and a member/current captain of the Host Reno Chapter No. 34 of RAM of Kansas, member of Hutchinson Council No. 13 Cryptic Masons of Kansas, member/current junior warden of Commandery No. 26 Knights Templar of Kansas, Member of the Sword of Bunker Hill, Past. Assoc. Guardian of Bethel No. 15 of Hutchinson, past chapter dad of Hutchinson Chapter Order of Demolay, four-time past patron of the Silver Leaf Chapter No. 464 of the Order of the Eastern Star - Hutchinson, Member of the board of directors and past president of Optician Assoc. of Kansas.

On Sept. 19, 1965, he married Caroline Faye Stewart in South Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: three sons, Robert O. II, Alaska, Henry, El Dorado, and Brian and wife, Wendy, Georgia; a daughter, Alicia K., Hutchinson; six brothers, James and wife, Sarah, Derby, Paul and wife, Donna, Atlanta, Richard and wife, Helen, Fairview, Okla., Carl and wife, Agnes, Fairview, Okla., and Roger and wife, Loretta, Las Vegas; and a sister, Joyce Gray, Holdenville, Okla.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Trebor and Kevin; a brother, Winston; and an infant grandson; and an infant great-grandson.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Crossroads Christian Church, Hutchinson, with Pastor Wayne Pittman presiding. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, with family to receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Order of Eastern Star funeral rites by Silver Leaf Chapter No. 464 and Masonic graveside rites by Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge No. 124 AF&AM. Burial will be in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson.
