2409. Charles Abner Dalton²⁵⁸² was born on 18 January 1845 in Morristown, Hamblen Co., TN. He was born in 1845. Charles enlisted in the Co. D, 26th TN Infantry at Camp Cummings. on 4 July 1861 at .⁹¹⁴⁷

This unit was also called the 3rd East Tennessee Infantry Regt.

Charles escaped capture at Fort Donelson, and on June 2, 1862 transferred to the 59th Tennesse Mounted Infantry. Charles died in Cass Co., MO on 30 March 1911. Charles died in Cass Co., MO in 1911. He was also known as Abner Dalton.

Charles Abner Dalton and Balsora Evaline Bruce were married.²⁵⁸² They^²⁵⁸² appeared in the census on 5 June 1880 in Cass Co., MO.⁹¹⁴⁸ They^⁹¹⁴⁸ appeared in the census on 9 June 1900 in Cass Co., MO.⁹¹⁴⁹ Charles and Balsora^⁹¹⁴⁹ appeared in the census on 19 April 1910 in Cass Co., MO.⁹¹⁵⁰

Apparently the census enumerator reversed roles of Charles and Clark, listing Charles as the son, and Clark as the grandson. Previous census records show that Clark was the grandson, and Charles the son. Balsora Evaline Bruce⁹¹⁵¹ was born about 1852 in Missouri.

This is perhaps Balsora E. Bruce, age 9, in 1860 Cass Co., MO census.

Charles Abner Dalton and Balsora Evaline Bruce had the following children:

6873	i.	Effie M. Dalton was born in May 1874 in Missouri. She lived with her parents. in Cass Co., MO on 9 June 1900. Two grandchildren, apparently children of Effie, are also enumerated in the household in 1900. Both were enumerated with Dalton surname.
6874	ii.	Thomas J. Dalton was born in March 1876 in Missouri. This appears to be the Thomas J. Dalton in the 1920 Cass Co., MO census. With him is wife Cora H., and mother Bellora, or Belfora, age 67. They are found on sheet 5A, ED47, in Union Township.
6875	iii.	S. F. Dalton was born about September 1879 in Missouri.
6876	iv.	Lucretia A. Dalton was born in July 1882 in Missouri.
6877	v.	Delphia Dalton was born in February 1885 in Missouri.
6878	vi.	Emma Dalton was born in December 1890 in Missouri.
6879	vii.	Clark Dalton was born in October 1892 in Missouri.
