McDonald, 85, went to be with her Lord on Oct. 7, 1994, in the McAlester Regional Hospital of McAlester, Ok. She was born Oct. 16, 1908 in Octavia, Ok to Elmer & Florence McDonald. She married Liston P. Coffey on May 17, 1927 in Idabel, Ok where they owned & operated the Coffey Funeral Homes in several counties of SE Okla. They resided in various towns where the businesses were located & moved to Antlers, Ok in Aug. of 1948 where she resided until her death. Mildred was a member of the Antlers First Baptist Church, however she & Mr. Coffey worked with many of the area churches & ministers. They left a legacy of Christian love & compassion to all they came in contact with. Mr. Coffey preceded her in death Dec. 12, 1976, also preceded in death by infant son, daughter, Alice Frances Smith on Dec. 15, 1988, grandson, Tim Ruiz on Dec. 24, 1993, 8 sisters, 2 brothers, 1 foster brother. Survived by son, Liston R. Coffey and wife, Maude of Idabel; 2 daughters, Patsy Lawless & husband, Almurn of Antlers & Charlotte Ruiz & husband, Rueben of OKC; 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 10 step great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Harley McDonald & wife, Gail of Moore & David McDonald & wife, Marie of Charleston, Ak. She is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews including two special nieces whom she helped raise after the death of their mother, Gwendolyn McConathy & husband, Joe of Scottsdale, Az & Kathryn Hongess of Fargo, ND.
