While always staying lucid in his speech and thoughts, he succumbed to complications from several illnesses while surrounded by family. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Lucious Coffey and Birdie Lyle Wilhoit and brothers, George W. Coffey; Edward H. Coffey; Jim W. Coffey and Charles H. Coffey. With over 100 years of military service, the Coffey boys proudly served in the Army, Air Force, and Navy during WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War. The Coffey family is rich in Masonic heritage. He was a member of Jacksboro Masonic Lodge and retired from this world as a 62 year, 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Elizabeth Prim Coffey; their children and spouses, Edwina Lyrae and Victor Warren Palmer; Paul Alvin and Angela Marie Coffey and Brandee Rae Coffey. Billy's grandchildren include, Andrew Blake Palmer; Paul Garrett Palmer; Shelby Marie Coffey and Emma Elizabeth Petrey. Billy also leaves behind our beloved family friend, Carolyn Sue Gaylor; brother, Robert A. Coffey and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Services were held July 31 in the Cross-Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wade Walls officiating with a Masonic Service being held at 7:45 p.m. Interment was in Jacksboro Cemetery with military honors given by the Campbell County Honor Guard. Cross-Smith Funeral Home of LaFollette was in charge of arrangements. A living couple was married in 1960 in Campbell Co., TN.47442 Living was born in 1938 in New Hope, Madison Co., AL.
