Eunice Bohneynell Coffey Cox, 84, of Lyndhurst, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Augusta Health.She was born September 26, 1931, in Love, Va., daughter of Hobert Lyle and Marie Fitzgerald Coffey.Mrs. Cox was a member of Sand Spring Baptist Church. Eunice Bohneynell Coffey and Billy Gene Cox were married on 21 June 1949 in Augusta Co., VA. Billy Gene Cox, son of George Dextor Cox and Mary Jane Hewitt, was born on 25 March 1926 in Swoope, Augusta Co., VA. Billy died in Lyndhurst, Augusta Co., VA on 11 May 2011 and was buried at Cox Cemetery in Lyndhurst, Augusta Co., VA in May 2011 .30279

Billy Gene Cox, 85, of Cox Hollow Lane, Lyndhurst, has gone to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at his residence.

He was born on March 25, 1926, in Swoope, Virginia, a son of George Dexter Cox and Mary Jane Hewitt Cox.

As part of the 99th Infantry, 393rd Regiment, 1st Battalion D Company - Heavy Weapons, he served his country faithfully as a sergeant with the United States Army during World War II.

He was a skilled excavator, and admired for his selfless and dedicated work.

Mr. Cox will be greatly missed by all his family. He enjoyed working with his tractor, westerns, country music, good food, and good company. He most of all enjoyed spending time with his family and loved having bubble gum for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Before his health declined, he attended Sand Spring Baptist Church in Lyndhurst.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Gene Cox; six brothers, Julian, Jasper, Russell, Frank, Albert, and Charles "Buddy" Cox; and one sister, Charlotte Cox.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 61 years, Eunice Coffey Cox; three sons, William Cox of Lyndhurst, Edward Cox of Lyndhurst, Doug Cox and his wife, Dusty, of Lyndhurst; nine daughters, Suzy Hodge and her husband, Stan, of Waynesboro, Diane Williams and her husband, Richard, of Stuarts Draft, Sandra Cox of Lyndhurst, Bonnie Willis and her husband, Andy, of Lyndhurst, Jenny Crummett and her husband, Charles, of Stuarts Draft, Vickie Parson and her husband, Jack, of Lyndhurst, Lisa Shaw and her husband, Stephen, of Texas, Cheryle Davis and her husband, Troy, of Ohio, and Kristie Burns and her husband, Dwayne, of Staunton; 39 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Pauline Cox of Waynesboro and Jessie Wellborn of Georgia.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011, at Sand Spring Baptist Church.

A service will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2011, at Sand Spring Baptist Church by Pastor Doug Cox and Pastor Travis Howard. Interment will follow at the Cox family cemetery near the church with honors conducted by the American Legion.

Active pallbearers will be Rod Ferrier, Travis Howard, Dwight Cox, Phillip Willis, Daron Cox, Zachary Williams, Jesse Hodge, and Derek Crummett.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sand Spring Baptist Church, 2677 Mount Torrey Road, Lyndhurst, VA 22952.
