Richard "Ric" Lynn Coffey, 61, of Waynesboro, passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012, at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 25, 1951, in Staunton, a son of the late James Ellis Coffey and Leigh Humphreys Coffey. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Randy Coffey. Mr. Coffey was the owner and operator of Valley Siding and Home Improvement of Waynesboro. He enjoyed playing golf, video games, and playing the fiddle, guitar and harmonica. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ric was a member of the Moose Lodge in Waynesboro. Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Anne Good and her husband, Gary, of Staunton, Sandie Lynn Coffey and her companion, Barbara Beaman, of Lyndhurst; two sons, Richard Alan Long Jr. and his wife, Summer, James Wesley Coffey and his wife, Rhonda, both of Waynesboro; two sisters, Toni Medina and Tracy Netherland, both of Waynesboro; as well as ten grandchildren; three great- grandchildren, two nephews and three nieces.

Following his wishes, Mr. Coffey was cremated and a Celebration of Life Party will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Jo's Place on North Delphine Avenue in Waynesboro.

There will be no visitation or other services. Mr. Coffey's family wishes to acknowledge with grateful thanks the services of Hospice of the Shenandoah and the kindness and love of his special friends, Kay Naguin, Mike Pfeiffer, A. W. and Cindy Sprouse. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Shenandoah or to the American Cancer Society .
