She was the oldest member of Lakeshore Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Howerton of Bean Station; son, Junior Ray Howerton of Bean Station; parents, Nathaniel and Pearl Coffey of Bean Station; and sister, Dorsie Dalton of Thorn Hill. She is survived by her two remaining children, Evelyn Dalton and son-in-law, Bill Dalton of Bean Station, and Bill Howerton and daughter-in-law, Brenda Howerton of Bean Station; daughter-in-law, Margaret Howerton of Bean Station; sisters, Mae Coffey of Franklin OH, Golda Northern of Bean Station, and Clydia Spradling of Bean Station; brothers, Berry Coffey, Albert Coffey, and Kenneth Coffey, all of Bean Station; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Margaret Coffey, Sherlene Coffey, and Libby Coffey, all of Bean Station; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. Pallbearers will be Tim Coffey, Jeff Coffey, Hearld Dalton, Ricky Blanken, Mark Howerton, and Wayne Garrett. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at 12 p.m. at Stubblefield Funeral Home with Rev. Derek Drummons and Rev. Alex McAnnally officiating. Interment will follow in Adriel Cemetery in Bean Station. The family will receive friends on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Fannie Lucy Coffey and Clarence O. Howerton were married. Clarence O. Howerton was born on 22 July 1927. Clarence enlisted in the US Army on 13 December 1945 at Fort Oglethorp, GA.39300 Clarence died in Tennessee on 9 September 1988 and was buried at Adriel Baptist Church Cemetery in Bean Station, Grainger Co., TN.39301 |
