Tenn.; died March 16, 1925, age 64 years, 1 month, 16 days. He professed faith in Christ in early life and joined the Cedar Springs Baptist church on the fourth Saturday in February, 1878. He was married to Jane Harvill on October 15, 1878. To this union were born six children; three preceded him to the Glory Land, leaving three sons, one step-son and an aged companion, and seventeen grand-children and a host of friends and relatives. He lived a faithful Christian until death. He was loved by all who knew him. He was a kind and loving father. He loved the name of the church and he often spoke of his heavenly home; he told his friends not to worry his time had come to go and he fell in the arms of Jesus to sleep till the Resurrection Morn. She married Wiley Dalton on Oct. 15, 1878. She professed at the age of 15 and joined the M.E. church, and afterwards joined the Oak Hill Baptist church in Sept. 1909 and was baptized on the following Sunday. She was afflicted many years but she bore her suffering with great patience. She called all of her children to her bed and said, "Children don't worry about me, Jesus has prepared me a better home than this." She leaves 4 boys and 19 grandchildren.
