John P. Coffey and Sarah Jane "Sallie" Dalton were married circa 1926. Sarah Jane "Sallie" Dalton, daughter of Christopher Colby Dalton and Hannah Mallicoat, was born in 1870 in Grainger Co., TN. Sarah died in Grainger Co., TN in 1929.
According to information contained in the Jean England work, Sarah had been previously married to George Brooks and had five children. After their father was killed, three of the children were adopted out and two were placed in a children's home in Knoxville. When those two were about to be adopted Sarah married John Coffey and the family moved to Michigan. They divorced after about 2 years of marriage.

John P. Coffey and Violet M. were married. They appeared in the census on 10 April 1930 in Wayne Co., MI.³⁸⁶⁰⁰ Violet M. was born on 18 July 1894 in Michigan. Violet died in Lincoln Park, Wayne Co., MI on 18 July 1981.³⁸⁶⁰¹
