Gridith "G.R." Coffey, 89, of Magazine died May 3, 2014 in his home. He was born Feb. 17, 1925 in Russell Springs, Kent.

He was a construction building supervisor for many years and was the owner and operator of his own construction business. He served in the United States Army as a tank instructor during World War II. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Finn and Mary(Thorton) Ester Coffey; one daughter; one son; three brothers and two sisters.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Booneville Funeral Service.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years Lucinda "Cindy" Coffey of Magazine; three sisters, Dimple Young of Louisville, Kent., Lois Kimbler of Borden, Ind., and Ann Lyons of Louisville, Kent.; two brothers, Airl Coffey of Shelbyville, Ind., and Dravo Coffey of Livingston, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A living couple was married in 1978 in Clark Co., NV.40485 Living (private).
