She was born May 17, 1924, in Love, the daughter of Wallace and Martha (Goode) Coffey).

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ira G. Coffey, three sons, Tony Coffey and Norman Coffey at home, and Herman Coffey of Roseland; three daughter, Mildred Roadcap of Crimora, Joyce Groah of Stuarts Draft and Shirley Painter of Waynesboro; a brother, Samuel Coffey of Lyndhurst; a sister, Nellie Umbarger of Ceres, W.Va.; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Waynesboro chapel of Etter Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. Ray Coffey. Burial will follow in the Mountain Top Christian Church Cemetery .

Pallbearers will be R.N. Harman, Harvey Loan, Billy Lowe, Gary Madison, Allen Coffey, Tobey and Kevin Roadcap and Scott Bell.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Edna Elizabeth "Lizzie" Coffey and Ira Givins Coffey were married on 24 July 1944 in Staunton, Independent City., VA.42973 Ira Givins Coffey, son of Callie Hall Coffey and Lucille E. Everitt, was born on 21 May 1923 in Augusta Co., VA. Ira enlisted in the on 16 April 1943 at Richmond, Independent City, VA.42970 Ira died on 14 August 1998 at the age of 75 in Stuarts Draft, Augusta Co., VA and was buried at Mountain Top Christian Church Cemetery in Love, Augusta Co., VA.42971,42972

Ira Givens Coffey, 75, of Stuarts Draft died Friday, Aug. 14, 1998, at the Augusta Medical Center. He was born May 21, 1923, in Nelson County, the son of the late Callie and Lucille Everett Coffey. He was an Army veteran, served in World War II and was a member of the Mountain Top Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Virginia Lowery Coffey; three sons, Herman Coffey of Nellysford and Tony and Norman Coffey of Stuarts Draft; three daughters, Mildred Roadcap of Crimora, Shirley Painter of Waynesboro and Joyce Groah of Sherando; a step-son, Kenneth Campbell of Stuarts Draft; 20 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna "Lizzie" Coffey, and two sons, George and Steve Coffey.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Stuarts Draft chapel of Reynolds Funeral Service by the Revs. Dennis Bradley Sr. and Ray Coffey. Burial will follow at Mountain Top Christian Church cemetery with military rites by Stuarts Draft VFW Post 9339.

Active pallbearers will be Joe Huffman, Charlie Bradley, Homer Weaver, Tony Coffey, Norman Coffey and Hank Whitesell. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Shull, Garry Smith, Bob Painter, Rex Batten, Kevin Roadcap, Toby Roadcap and Forest Brooks.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and friends may call at the residence at other times.

Mr. Coffey is also survived by a special nephew, Garry Smith, of Stuarts Draft.
