"Richard Coffey Dies in Staunton

"Staunton - Richard Lee Coffey, 58, an assistant Augusta County extension agent, died Saturday afternoon at his home.

"A graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Mr. Coffey worked as a Virginia Tech extension agent and with the county's 4-H program for 35 years.

"He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nora Lee O'Dell Coffey, a son, Richard Lee Coffey, Jr., a daughter, Susan Lynne Coffey of Stuarts Draft; and three sisters, Mrs. B. L. Terrill of Orange, Mrs. H. S. Strawn and Mrs. J. R. Strawn, both of Charlotte, N.C.

"A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at the Henry Funeral Home in Staunton, with burial in Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery at Stuarts Draft."

Staunton - Mr. and Mrs. Earl Royce O'Dell of Nimrod Hall, announce the engagement of their daughter, Nora Lee, to Richard Lee Coffey, son of Mrs. Bertie M. Coffey and the late Mr. J. L. Coffey, of Staunton.

Miss O'Dell is a graduate of Millboro High School and attended Dunsmore Business College.

Mr. Coffey is a graduate of Stuarts Draft High School and Virginia Polytechnic Institute, class of 1941.

The wedding will take place in the Spring.

They²⁸⁸⁰⁴ were married on 4 May 1946 in Lyndhurst, Augusta Co., VA.²⁸⁸⁰⁵ Nora Lee O'Dell was born on 8 August 1924 in Lexington, Fayette Co., KY. Nora died in Staunton, Independent City., VA on 29 September 1978 and was buried at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery in Stuarts Draft, Augusta Co., VA in September 1978 .²⁸⁸⁰⁶
