Montebello - Chester Martin Fitzgerald, 36, a bulldozer operator for Mawyer Construction Co., of Staunton, died yesterday afternoon, as the result of injuries received in a construction accident in Augusta County.

A son of the late Mayo and Sally Fitzgerald, he was born in Nelson County on Nov. 3, 1923. He was a member of the White Rock Christian Church at Montebello.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Coffey Fitzgerald; three daughters, Frances Geraldine Fitzgerald, Brenda Gale Fitzgerald and Linda Mae Fitzgerald, and one son, Linwood Martin Fitzgerald, all of Montebello; two brothers, Arthur Fitzgerald, Stuarts Draft, and Isaac Fitzgerald, Montebello, and three sisters, Mrs. Venie Bryant and Mrs. Carrie Fitzgerald, both of Montebello, and Mrs. Waverly Kaylor, Staunton.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. from the White Rock Christian Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Chester Martin Fitzgerald and Margaret Velma Coffey were married. Margaret Velma Coffey, daughter of Clarence Henry Coffey and Mary Maywood Sorrels, was born circa 1924 in Nelson Co., VA. She lived with her parents in Massies Mill, Nelson Co, VA on 27 April 1940.
