Dr. Brown in Navy

Dr. Leland Coffey Brown, Staunton's health officer, who resigned two weeks ago, has been commissioned a lieutenant in the naval reserve and reported at Norfolk for duty. His place here has not been filled by City Council.

Dr. Brown is a graduate of Marshall College, Huntington, W. Va., and the Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, and served his internship at White Cross Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. He later practiced at Stuarts Draft in southwestern Augusta County, and has been located in Staunton four years.
