She was born May 27, 1882, in Nelson County, a daughter of the late Riley and Martha Wyatt Fortune Coffey. Mrs. Dodd is survived by her husband, William Richard Dodd; three sons, Clark H. Dodd,, of Afton, Richard B. Dodd of the Veterans Administration Center in Dayton, Ohio, and Burman F. Dodd of St. Mary's, Ga.; five daughters, Mrs. Belva Johnson of Rocky Mount, N. C., Mrs. Henry J. Farrrar of Fishersville, Mrs. J. E. Hoy of Harrisonburg, Mrs. Martha Pugh of Washington, D. C., and Mrs. R. E. McCauley of Staunton; one sister, Mrs. Eliza Truslow of Avon; one brother, Massie Coffey of Route 1, Greenville, 30 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Etter Funeral Home, conducted by the Rev. John Chafee with burial in the Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery at Avon.
