She was born in Reedley on Jan. 14, 1917, daughter of Charles Ernest and Celestine "Tenia" Kullman Gilliland. She graduated from Reedley High School, and then from Barnes Beauty College in Fresno. She worked as a beautician for several years and had a shop in downtown Reedley. Emma married Raymond Hubert Coffey on Feb. 10, 1942 and became a wonderful wife and mother to their two children. Emma was preceded in death by her husband Ray H. Coffey. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Lee Coffey Fulcher of Reedley, Calif.; one son, Ronald Ray Coffey and his wife Judy of Napa, Calif.; one granddaughter, Lisa Marie Fagan and her husband, Harley, of Mesa, Ariz.; and two grandsons, Jeffrey David Coffey of Bend, Ore.; Michael Jonathan Coffey of Fishers, Indiana and five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering to be held Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at the Club House of the Kings River Senior Mobile Home Park, 1300West Olson Ave., Reedley at 11 a.m. |
