James E. Coffey Sr., 82, of Eustis died Wednesday (Feb. 20, 2002). Born in Buena Vista, Va., he moved to Central Florida in 1956 from Oak Hill, W.Va. He was a retired owner of Coffey's Coin Laundry of Eustis and was a Protestant. He was a member of Eustis Lodge 1578 B.P.O.E. and Pine Meadows Golf and Country Club of Eustis. He was a former plant manager for Florida Food Products of Eustis. Survivors include his son, James E. Coffey Jr. of Eustis; two daughters, Marilyn C. Garner of Eustis and Patty A. Mitchell of Eustis; sister, Ruby Cooke of Tavares; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Hamlin and Hilbish Funeral Directors, Eustis.

Funeral services for Mr. Coffey will be held from the Eustis Chapel of Hamlin and Hilbish Funeral Directors at 2 p.m. on Friday with the Rev. David M. Gill officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeside Memory Gardens, Eustis. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The family requests those desiring to direct memorials to Hospice of Lake and Sumter. Opal died in Eustis, Lake Co., FL on 15 September 1999 and was buried at Lakeside Memory Gardens in Eustis, Lake Co., FL in September 1999 .^43255,43256
