She was the wife of Herschel Herndon Hoover. The body was cremated. Mrs. Hoover was the daughter of the late Avery and Alice Coffey and was educated at Appalachian State Teachers College and the University of North Carolina. She taught in the Caldwell County schools before accepting a position with the Lenoir schools 15 years ago. Her husband and two daughters survive.
