T. Cain, Morganton, Passes in Statesville He Had Been Very Ill For More Than a Month - Was Native of Wake County (Special to Daily News) Morganton, Oct 29 - C. T. Cain, a well-known citizen of Morganton, died late Thursday afternoon at Dr. Long's hospital in Statesville, where he had been a patient for more than a month. Almost from the beginning of his illness his live hd been despaired of and his wife and daughters had been constantly with him since he went to Statesville. The body was brought to Morganton today at noon. Awaiting the arrival of relatives from a distance, the funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock and interment made in the cemetery here. Mr. Cain is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Earl McGillicuddy of Moline, Ill., and Miss Ivetta Cain, the latter a member of the Statesville graded school faculty. A brother, James Cain, and a sister, Mrs. Castlebury, live in Raleigh. Mr. Cain was a native of Wake county, coming here from Raleigh about 30 years ago. He married Miss Lula Coffey, a daughter of the late Elbert Coffey and Mrs. Margaret Kincaid Coffey. For years he had been a faithful employee of the Burke Tanning company.
