5272. Roy Valette Coffey LL.B. was born on 25 October 1879 in Spencer, Owen Co., IN.⁶⁵³⁶ He lived with his parents in Burlington, Coffey Co., KS on 14 June 1880. He lived with his parents in Eden, LaSalle Co., IL on 1 June 1900. Roy roomed with the Durham family and was a teacher at the local high school in Des Moines, Polk Co., IA on 25 April 1910. He registered for the WWI draft on 12 September 1918 in St. Louis, MO.¹⁷³⁶² Roy died in St. Louis, MO in November 1968 and was buried at Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis, MO in November 1968 .¹⁷³⁶³

In 1914 Roy wrote and published a book on education with the fantastic title of:

Preparatory educational requirements for collegiate training in business: With special reference to articulation between the high-school and college courses

The book is currently out of print.

The Calendar of the University of Michigan, 1910-1911, p544 listed Roy Vallett Coffey, LL.B., Teacher in High School Des Moines, Ia.

Roy Valette Coffey LL.B. and Hazel McCrum Buckley were married circa 1919. They appeared in the census on 18 January 1920 in St. Louis, MO.¹⁷³⁶⁴ They¹⁷³⁶⁴ appeared in the census on 17 April 1930 in St. Louis, MO.¹⁷³⁶⁵ Roy and Hazel¹⁷³⁶⁵ appeared in the census on 8 April 1940 in St. Louis, MO.¹⁷³⁶⁶

Apparently, no children were born to this union. Hazel McCrum Buckley was born circa 1887 in Ohio. Hazel died in St. Louis, MO in September 1962 and was buried at Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis, MO in September 1962 .¹⁷³⁶⁷
