Cora Miller, 76, retired Cora's Fabric Shop owner- operator, died Dec. 31, 1990, at home. Funeral is 2 p.m. today at Mount Zion Baptist Church. Pendry's of Lenoir is in charge.
Survivors are her husband, Earl; sons, Nolan Miller, Thomas Miller, Basil Miller; daughters, Mrs. Margaret Evans of Mount Holly, Mrs. Mary Spcier of Lenoir, Mrs. Willa Carpenter, Ms. Frances Carpenter; brother, Ray Coffey of Culpeper, Va.; sisters, Mrs. Bina Coffey of High Point, Mrs. Lotta Hensley of Orange, Va.

Earl Miller
Earl Boyd Miller, 94, of Hudson, passed away at his residence on Oct. 15, 2006.
Mr. Miller was a native of Caldwell County, a retired poultry farmer and the oldest member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Daniel Lafayette Miller and Emma Coleman Miller.
Survivors include three sons, Nolen Miller of Hudson, Thomas Miller and wife Reba of Hudson and Basil Miller and wife Karen of Hudson; four daughters, Jean Carpenter and husband John of Granite Falls, Margaret Evans and husband Earl of Blacksburg, S.C., Mary M. Spicer of Lenoir and Frances M. Carpenter of Hudson.
He is survived by 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Miller is also preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Cora Coffey Miller; one son, Bobby D. Miller; three grandchildren and 20 sisters and brothers, of which he was the youngest.
The Miller family will receive friends at Pendry's Funeral Home today, Oct. 17, 2006 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Revs Edd Warren and John Green officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers for Mr. Miller will be grandsons, Reggie A. Miller, Michael D. Carpenter, David N. Evans, F. Larry Carpenter Jr., Tommy Miller and Todd Miller. Honorary pallbearers will also be Mr. Miller's grandsons.

A celebration of Mr. Miller's life will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 2:30 PM with Pastor Jeff Burkimer and Pastor Glen Walker officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be TJ Miller, Robert Miller, David Evans, Reggie Wallace, Curtis Webb, and Larry Carpenter. Robert Cline II will serve as Honorary Pallbearer. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 prior to the service.
