10916. Rev. Hardie Lee Coffey was born on 14 April 1884 in Watauga Co., NC.⁵¹²⁶ He registered for the WWI draft on 12 September 1918 in Watauga Co., NC.³¹⁹⁰⁹ Rev. Hardie died of meningitis on 29 January 1937 at the age of 52 at Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., NC and was buried at Hall Cemetery in Volney, Grayson Co., VA on 30 January 1937 .^31910,31911

Hardie and his small family moved to the Winston-Salem area of North Carolina while their children were still very small. It was here that Hardie became a Baptist minister.
