Coffey Sr., 48, of Ivanhoe Ave., died at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville, yesterday at 7:30 a.m. Mr. Coffey was born Aug. 9, 1917, in Augusta County, a son of Mrs. Sarah Houff Coffey and the late Hansford Coffey. He operated a trucking firm and was a member of Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to his mother, include his wife, Mrs. Mary Frances Coffey of Waynesboro; one son, Ralph D. Coffey Jr. of Waynesboro; three daughters, Mrs. Billie (Jean) Roadcap, Miss Linda Sue Coffey and Miss Melody Ann Coffey, all of Waynesboro; one brother, Maxie Coffey of Waynesboro; three sisters, Mrs. Lucy Eavey and Mrs. Gladys Colvin, both of Waynesboro, and Mrs. Betty Russell of St. George's Island, Md.; four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Saturday in Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Scott C. Hutton Sr. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery. The body will remain at McDow-Tyree Funeral Home until one hour prior to the service, when it will be placed in the church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. Ralph David Coffey and Mary Frances Willis were married. Mary Frances Willis was born on 1 July 1928 in Virginia. Mary died on 10 March 2000 at the age of 71 in Virginia and was buried at Riverview Cemetery in Waynesboro, Independent City, VA.30234,30235 Ralph David Coffey and Mary Frances Willis had the following children:
