Gladys Frances Coffey Colvin, 89, of Waynesboro, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2010, at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville.

Born February 6, 1921, in Waynesboro, she was a daughter of the late Hansford Coffey and Sarah Houff Coffey.

Gladys was retired from General Electric after 35 years of service. She collected dolls and loved working in her flowers, both in her yard and on the porch.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Maxie Coffey; two sisters, Lucy Eavey and Betty Russell; and a son, Kenneth Lee Colvin.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Charles Lee Colvin; her son, D. W. Colvin of Waynesboro; her daughter, Jackie Smith and her husband, Lyn, of Lyndhurst; four grandchildren, Kimberly Fry, Michelle Terrell, Diana Cooper and her husband, David, and Penny Maybush; seven great-grandchildren, Trevor Terrell, Allison Fry, Angel Fisher, Shawna Callahan, Nicklous Callahan, McCalli Yancey and Laden Maybush, many nieces and nephews; her special friends, Mick and Ann Anderson, Lorene Grant, and many more friends; and her special companions, her dog, "Achilles" and her cat, "Teter".

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church, Waynesboro, conducted by Pastor Paul F. LaPrevotte.

The family will be receiving friends at the family home on Frye Street.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her family.

Charles Lee Colvin, 91, of Waynesboro, VA, passed away Monday night, January 23, 2012, at the University of Virginia Medical Center, Charlottesville. He was born January 1, 1921, in Craigsville, a son of late James Kemper and Ruby Lucille (Griffin) Colvin.

Mr. Colvin was a residential painter prior to his retirement; he was a U. S. Navy veteran.

In addition to his parents he was presided in death by wife, Gladys F Colvin; one son, Kenneth Colvin; four brothers, David, Marshall, Calvin and Archie Colvin and one sister, Leona Golliday.

He is survived by his son, Douglas Colvin; his daughter, Jackie Smith and her husband, Lynwood Smith; four grandchildren, Kimberly Fry, Michelle Terrell and her partner, Trenton Fisher, who was also his caretaker for the last year, Diana Cooper and her husband, David and Penny Maybush her husband, Robert; seven great-grandchildren, Trevor Terrell whom he raised, Allison Fry, Angel Fisher, Shawana Callahan, Nicklous Callahan, McCalli Yancey and Laden Maybush; one great-great-granddaughter, Alechia; brothers Roy Colvin his wife, Loretta of FL, Guy Colvin and his wife Mattie, of Alexandria, Ronnie Colvin of Craigsville, Harold Colvin of Harrisonburg; one sister, Bessie Colvin of Craigsville; many special friends and his special pets, "Achilles", "Bud", "Molly" and "Angel".

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P. M., Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 961 Goose Creek Road, Fishersville, conducted by Melvin Bragg. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Waynesboro. Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P. M., Friday January 27th at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center, 1001 Mount Torrey, Lyndhurst, VA 22952, with checks made out to the "City of Waynesboro" and designating the "Shenandoah Valley Animal Services Center" in Memo.

The family would like to thank the Doctors and Nurses at UVA who cared for him and a special thank you to Jerry Terrell, who helped take care of him.
