She was born in Love on March 4, 1891, a daughter of the late George M. and Sarah Grove Coffey. She was a member of Mountain Top Christian Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Clay Hewitt, on Sept. 7, 1985, and by her son, Lester Hewitt, on Dec. 17, 1962. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Elmer C. Hewitt and Madelyn Hewitt, and one granddaughter, Ms. Jackie Hewitt, all of Waynesboro. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the funeral. Honorary pallbearers will be neighbors, friends and members of Mountain Top Christian Church. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight in the Waynesboro chapel of Etter Funeral Home.
