Richard J. Seufert, 88, died Dec. 29, 2006. 

He was born Oct. 29, 1919, to Edward Sr. and Ellen (Coffey) Seufert in The Dalles. 

He graduated from high school in 1937. He worked for Seufert Brothers Cannery until joining the U.S. Army during World War II. 

After the war, he returned to the family business until it closed in the mid-1950s. He owned several businesses and eventually went to work for the State of Oregon Employment Department, serving in several cities during his career. 

After retiring, he settled in Ocean Park, Wash. 

He is preceded in death by his parents Edward Sr. and Ellen, a brother Edward Jr., and a nephew Robert.

He is survived by his nephews Edward III and Randy and great-nephew Sean. 

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Jan. 20 at the Eagles Lodge in Ocean Park.

Richard James Seufert and Doris Lucille were married. Doris Lucille was born on 27 March 1927. Doris died on 19 August 2004 and was buried at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Multnomah Co., OR in August 2004 .^39890,39891
