Hospital in Lexington. He was 69 years old. He was born in Casey County on Sep. 12, 1914, the son of Addison William Coffey and Maude Walters Coffey. Coffey was a disabled veteran, having served during World War II, and a retired farmer. He attended Bruce's Chapel Methodist Church. In 1946 he married the former Dorothy Matthews, who survives. Other survivors include four sons, Lanny Joseph Coffey of Reading, Ohio, Jim Coffey of Liberty, Jack L. Coffey of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Jerel M. Coffey of Albany, Ky.; a brother, Chester Coffey of Liberty; and six grandchildren. A brother, Addison Coffey, and a grandchild preceded him in death. Funeral services were Aug. 15 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Orville Meece officiating. Burial was in the Williams Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Bill Coffey, Roger Coffey, Bob Weddle, David Weddle, Edward Brackett and Jack Salyers.
