She had been in declining health for nine months. She was born Oct. 22, 1916, in Alexander County to the late Pal Coffey and Sallie Brown Coffey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy [sic] Holsclaw, June 20, 1996; a son, Dennis Ray Holsclaw; a sister, Mavis Fletcher, and a brother, Ralph Coffey. She was a retired furniture worker, was the eldest member of Dover Baptist Church where she was a member of the Adult Sunday School Class, and was educated in the Caldwell County Schools. Survivors are a son, Darrell Holsclaw and wife, Camilla of Hudson; a sister, Zelma Beam of Lincolnton, and a grandson, Tim and wife, Sarah Jane Rush. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday at Dover Baptist Church with the Rev. Eddie Shumate officiating. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Adams Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and other times at the residence. Memorials may be given to Dover Baptist Church, 328 Terrace Lawn Court, Taylorsville, N.C. 28681. Adams Funeral Home in Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. Georgia Vonabell Coffey and Ray Holsclaw were married.
