Minnie June Coffey and James Harrison Curtis were married on 11 April 1909 in Penley, Watauga Co., NC.¹⁵³¹⁸ James Harrison Curtis was born on 15 April 1882 in Patterson, Caldwell Co., NC. He lived with his maternal grandparents William and Mary Curtis in Patterson Twp., Caldwell Co., NC on 20 June 1900.¹⁵³¹⁹

This may be his maternal grandparents. The death certificate does not name the father; the mother's name was Marilda Curtis. He registered for the WWI draft on 12 September 1918¹⁵³²⁰ James died of malnutrition and cachexia on 30 December 1946 at the age of 64 in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC and was buried at Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC on 1 January 1947.^15321,15322

Minnie June Coffey and James Harrison Curtis had the following children:
