483. Rev. Adolphus Coffey was born on 16 September 1836 in North Carolina. The marriage license application for his daughter Anna gives his birth place as Monroe Co., IN. Adolphus registered for the draft on 10 July 1863 in Owen Co., IN. He was 26 years old, married and a druggist. He subsequently served with¹⁶⁷⁸ Co. H., of the US 13th Regt Indiana Infantry .¹⁸⁸⁸ On 2 June 1870 he was a wagon maker in Tuscola, Douglas Co., IL. On 14 January 1880 he was a physician in Tuscola, Douglas Co., IL. Rev. Coffey died on 20 March 1909 at the age of 72 at Illinois Soldier & Sailor Homeat the Quincey, Adams Co., IL and was buried at Coffey Cemetery in Ellettsville, Monroe Co., IN.^1889,1890

Adolphus Coffey and Susan Harriet Miller were married on 26 September 1860 in Owen Co., IN.¹⁸⁹¹ They^¹⁸⁹¹ appeared in the census on 2 June 1870 in Tuscola, Douglas Co., IL.¹⁸⁹² Susan Harriet Miller was born on 26 January 1838 in New York. Susan died on 10 October 1875 at the age of 37 in Owen Co., IN and was buried at Coffey Cemetery in Ellettsville, Monroe Co., IN.^1893,1894

She lived with her paents in Greencastle, Putnam Co., IN on 16 August 1850. She lived with her parents in Spencer, Owen Co., IN on 15 June 1860. Susan lived with her parents in Clay Twp., Owen Co., IN on 24 August 1870. She lived in Spencer Co., IN on 12 June 1913. Susan died on 2 July 1927 at the age of 83 in Indiana and was buried at Coffey Cemetery in Ellettsville, Monroe Co., IN.^1899,1900
