Stan Arney’s “Ancestry” tree says Catherine married Peter Edleman on 31 Jan 1787. That would make her just shy of 13 years old! And would mean she got married less than 3 months after the Surry court decision binding her to John Daub.

I did check the “North Carolina Marriage Collection”, and found there was indeed a 31 Jan 1787 marriage between Peter Edleman and Cathrine “Earey” for Rowan County. And it’s true that Surry County was once part of Rowan County. But by 1787 they were separate, and it’s not obvious (to me) that this record definitely refers to our Catherine “Arney”. (But then Peter did live (or had lived) in Surry, and perhaps slipping away to a nearby county was prudent if he wanted to marry a 13-year-old?)
