He was born on May 31, 1917, the Son of John L. and Neva Lair Coffey. Both parents preceded him in death. On March 26, 1948, he united in Marriage with Dorothy Abbott Coffey. To this union 2 Children survive: Sandra Coffey Alley and Jesse Coffey. He is also survived by 3 Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are 5 Sisters: Mayme Coffey Smith, Nell Coffey Adams, Ruth Coffey Jones, Ethel Coffey and Geneva Coffey Thompson; and 2 Brothers: Romer and Eligah Coffey. He had accepted Christ as his Savior and was a faithful Member of the Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church, for many years. Funeral Services were held on Monday, November 18, 1996 at 1:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel, with Brothers C.E. Hansford and Jerry Browning officating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery. Hoyt G. Hickey and Son Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements. John Henry Coffey and Dorothy M. Abbott were married on 26 March 1948 in Kentucky. Dorothy M. Abbott, daughter of George Abbott and Artie , was born on 20 August 1930. She lived with her parents in Wayne Co., KY on 19 April 1940. John Henry Coffey and Dorothy M.
