Cullem enlisted in the on 11 June 1943 at Marion Co., IN.⁴¹⁶⁷² Cullem died in Monticello, Wayne Co., KY on 2 December 2010 and was buried at Elk Spring Cemetery in Monticello, Wayne Co., KY on 6 December 2010 .⁴¹⁶⁷³

Cullem L. Coffey was born February 14, 1925 and departed this life Thursday, December 2, 2010 reaching the age of 85. He was the son of the late Edward Cullem and Gertie Evana (Taylor) Coffey. He was united in marriage to Lula Tuggle and to this union 2 children were born.

He is survived by: 1 daughter, Judy (Pid) Jones of Clinton, TN; his daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Coffey of Monticello, KY; 6 grandchildren, G.W. (Tonya) Coffey of Monticello, KY, Danny (Stacy) Coffey of Lancaster, KY, Danica (Tony) Kidd of Waco, Myles Coffey of Monticello, KY, Melissa (Jerry) Moses of Oak Ridge, TN, and Olivia Jones of Clinton, TN; 6 great grandchildren, Ashley, Kenzie, Mason, Elijah, Aiden, and Davonte`; along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, Edward and Gertie Coffey, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Lula Coffey; 1 son, Danny Coffey; 4 brothers, Bennie, Finis, Rufus, and Ray Coffey; and 3 sisters, Mazzie Denney, Bonnie Martin, and Ona Coffey.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 5, 2010 from 4 – 9 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 6, 2010 at 11 am at the Marvin S. Hicks Funeral Home. Burial will be in Elk Spring Cemetery. Full military honors will be performed by DAV Chapter 105.

Cullem Leonard Coffey and Lula Mae Tuggle were married on 14 February 1948 in Kentucky. Lula Mae Tuggle, daughter of Addie R. Tuggle and Mayme Coffey, was born on 14 November 1929 in Wayne Co., KY.⁴¹⁶⁷⁴ Lula died on 24 May 2007 at the age of 77 in Kentucky and was buried at Elk Spring Cemetery in Monticello, Wayne Co., KY.⁴¹⁶⁷⁵

Lula M. Coffey was born November 14, 1929 and departed this life May 24, 2007 reaching the age of 77 years. She was the daughter of the late Addie Tuggle and Maymie Coffey Tuggle.

She married Cullem Coffey and to this union two children were born.

She is survived by: her husband, Cullem Coffey of Monticello, KY one son, Danny Coffey of Harrodsburg, KY; Judy Jones of Clinton, TN; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, Claude and Roy Tuggle of Louisville, KY and Darrell Tuggle of New Castle, IN; and three sisters, Bernice Watson of Somerset Hill, K, Rita Denney of Waynesburg, KY, and Betty Perdue of New Castle, IN; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Addie and Maymie Tuggle; and three brothers, Carlos, Eugene, and Arvis Tuggle.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
