Cullom Coffey Sr., age 85, passed away on Friday night, September 30 at the Community Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Survivors include five sons and two daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Martin, Washington, Finis, Rufus and Ben Coffey and Mrs. Maizie Denney, all of Indianapolis and Cullom, Jr., and Ray Coffey of Monticello.

Funeral services were held on Monday, October 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oil Valley Baptist Church with Bro. Isaac Hucaby and Bro. Tommy Adkins officiating.

Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery with the Richard Lee Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Edward Cullem Coffey and Gertie Evana Taylor were married on 12 June 1903 in Kentucky. They appeared in the census on 19 April 1910 in Wayne Co., KY.²⁶⁴¹³ They²⁶⁴¹³ appeared in the census on 9 January 1920 in Wayne Co., KY.²⁶⁴¹⁴ Edward and Gertie²⁶⁴¹⁴ appeared in the census on 11 April 1930 in Wayne Co., KY.²⁶⁴¹⁵ They²⁶⁴¹⁵ appeared in the census on 22 April 1940 in Wayne Co., KY.²⁶⁴¹⁶ Gertie Evana Taylor was born on 6 August 1884 in Kentucky.

The 1920 census indicates that Gertie was born closer to 1887. She was age 33 years in that census. Her given name is spelled "Girdy" on her grave marker. Gertie died on 9 February 1955 at the age of 70 in Pulaski Co., KY and was buried at Elk Spring Cemetery in Monticello, Wayne Co., KY.^{26417,26418,26419}
