RALEIGH -- Mrs. Emma Coffey Moore, 98, of 6304 New Market Way Raleigh, a former resident of Boone widow of Mr. Benjamin G. Moore died Monday, May 29, at Raleigh Community Hospital. She was born April 30, 1902, in Caldwell County, to the late William and Nancy Gragg Coffey. She was a homemaker and a charter member of Foscoe Christian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Billie M. Parker and her husband Roger of Raleigh; granddaughter Pamela and husband, P.J. of Richmond, VA; two great-granddaughters, Amanda McCann of Richmond VA, Emily Parker Smith of Raleigh great-grandson, Timothy McCann of Richmond VA; stepdaughter, Becky Moore Gable of Boone; also, a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Roger Burton Parker, Jr.

Funeral service will be conducted Thursday morning at 11 a.m. at Hampton Funeral Home chapel in Boone, with Pastor Kenneth Caswell officiating. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Gardens Mausoleum in Blowing Rock. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hampton Funeral Service in Boone. Emma Destemonia Coffey and James Logan Badgett were married on 2 December 1928 in Carter Co., TN.³⁴⁰⁶² They³⁴⁰⁶² appeared in the census on 9 April 1940 in Watauga Twp., Watauga Co., NC.³⁴⁰⁶³ James Logan Badgett was born circa 1895 in Tennessee. James resided as a lodger with the Wm. E. Stemp family in Johnson Co., TN on 10 April 1945.
