"Mr. and Mrs. Albert Coffey, 3756 Warsaw Avenue, observed their fiftieth wedding anniversary on Sunday in Mt. Airy Forest. The occasion was mark- [sic] with a surprise party given the couple by their five daughters and five sons, also attended by 51 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Mr. Coffey retired last year after being employed by Aluminum Industries, Inc., for many years. Mr. Coffey, 71, and Mrs. Coffey, 67, are both natives of Wayne County, Ky. The couple's children are Mrs. Rubie Chitwood, Mrs. Thelma McCullough, Mrs. Oneida Griffith, Mrs. Doris Zonner, Mrs. Joyce Yettter and Earl, Wendel, James, Harold and Wallace Coffey. - Cincinnati Post and Times Star." Lottie Susan Denney, daughter of Leander T. Denney and Susannah Dodson, was born on 11 November 1893 in Monticello, Wayne Co., KY.41274 She lived with her parents in Slickford, Wayne Co., KY on 1 June 1900. He was born, Sept. 28, 1914, died July 10, 1924, being 9 years 10 months and 13 days old. He became ill Monday evening but we did not think he was so bad. But he gradually grew worse, and was rushed to the Hospital at Lexington for an operation Thursday, and died while on the table. Ti's so hard to give him up, for he was a shining jewell [sic] in our home, but God's will be done, not ours. Jesus has said, "Suffer little children to come unto Me, and forbid them not, for of such is the Kingdom of Heaven." Funeral services were conducted by Rev. George Abbott, after which the remains were taken to the family burying ground, and laid to rest. Clarence is gone but not forgotten, never will his memory fade, sweetest thoughts will ever linger around the grave where he is laid.
