In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, the Rev. Howard Thomas Hodges, who died April 20, 2001. She also was preceded in death by her foster family, Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Collins, Sally Collins, Spencer and Staple Collins. She is survived by daughters, Rebecca Parsons and husband, Lloyd, of Denton, and Susan Bullard of Fort Mill, S.C.; grandchildren, Jessica, Caitlin and Robb Bullard of Fort Mill, S.C. and Jen Parsons of Richlands and Amanda Perez of High Point. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Zion Baptist Church in Morganton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Cedar Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. After the death of Norma's mother Estie, her father placed her for adoption. She was adopted by the William Washington Collins family. Lee Ella Coffey Washington Collins was a cousin to Olin. Ironically, the Collins family also had a daughter named Estie. Norma Pauline Coffey and Rev. Howard Thomas Hodges were married on 22 October 1944 in North Carolina. Rev. Howard Thomas Hodges, son of William Maston Hodges and Dona Mae Greene, was born on 6 May 1926 in Boone, Watauga Co., NC.36312 Howard resided with his parents in Boone Twp., Watauga Co., NC on 5 April 1930. Howard died at home at 705 Ward Road in Denton, Davidson Co., NC on 20 April 2001 of renal failure and a memorial service was held in Morganton, Burke Co., NC at Zion Baptist Church on 22 April 2001.36313,36314 The Rev. Howard Thomas Hodges, age 74, of 205 Ward Road, Denton, a former resident of Morganton and Boone, died Friday, April 20, 2001, at his residence. He was born May 6, 1926, in Watauga County to the late William Maston and Dona Mae Greene Hodges. Rev. Hodges attended Gardner-Webb College and completed his studies at Fruitland Bible College in Hendersonville. He served as pastor of several churches in the Piedmont and foothills of North Carolina and was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Morganton where he served his last pastorate. He formerly served a number of churches in Watauga County. Survivors include his wife, Norma Coffey Hodges of the home; two daughters, Rebecca Parsons and husband, Lloyd of Denton, and Susan Bullard of Fort Mill, S.C.; two brothers, Tommy Hodges and wife, Janice of Tucson, Ariz., and Herbert Hodges and wife, Peggy, of Emerald Isle; five sisters, Marline Barnes and husband, the Rev. Howard Barnes, and Mrs. Mildred McGlothin and Mrs. Bernice Gentry, all of Lenoir, Mrs. Mabel Berry of Boone and Reba Hodges and husband, Buck, of Walkertown; and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Pauline Hodges of Boone. He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Lee Hodges, and three brothers, Ted Hodges, Paul Hodges and Bill Hodges, Jr. A memorial service was conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 at Zion Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Ralph May.
