Dickey was born on May 6, 1943, the son of Milton and Catherine (Filbert) Coffey in Minot, ND. He was raised in the Des Lacs and Minot area. He attended school in Minot and then spent time at the Grafton State School. In 1985, he moved to New Town, ND, and resided at Tri-City Care. He considered Tri-City Care his home and enjoyed the many friends and activities they provided for him over the years. He enjoyed listening to music, especially Elvis Presley's songs, watching western shows, drinking Mt. Dew and eating Junior Mints. He also enjoyed going to the casino, and to Home On The Range, near Stanley, ND, with his extended family. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. Dickey worked at the Tri-City workshop in Stanley, ND, and was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in New Town, ND. Surviving family includes: sisters, Gladys Jordahl, Minot, ND, and Peggy Nogosek, Des Lacs, ND; brothers, Vernon Coffey, Minot, ND, and Elmo "Buzz" Coffey, Wichita, KS; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family at Tri-City Care. Dickey was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sybil "Jerry" Machado; brother, Mike Coffey; two infant sisters, Viola and Ermil; brothers-in-law, Earl Jordahl and Richard Nogosek; and sister-in-law, Mabel Coffey. Funeral: Monday, March 20, 2006, at 11:00 am at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot. Interment: Monday at Des Lacs Community Cemetery, Des Lacs, ND. Visitation: Monday from 9 am to service time at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Memorials are preferred to Tri-City Care, New Town, ND or to an organization of the donor's choice.
