He was born in Nelson County Feb. 28, 1892, the son of Lucy and John Coffey. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Evergreen Christian Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel Carr Coffey; five daughters, Mrs. Lorenza Aistrop of Fauber, Mrs. John E. Walker of Alexandria, Mrs. Willie Kidd of Tyro, Mrs. John M. Campbell of Williamsburg and Mrs. L. E. Shaw of Lynchburg; four sisters, Mrs. Otie Demasters of Love, Mrs. Henry Everette of Lyndhurst, Miss Madge Coffey of Stuarts Draft and Mrs. Oscar Bridge of Stuarts Draft; three brothers, Dellie Coffey of Charlottesville, Jake Coffey of Fishersville and Andy Coffey, also of Fishersville; 21 grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Preston Parr Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
