Mrs. S. J. Philyaw

Lenoir, Nov. 27--Mrs. S. J. [Sarah Jane] Philyaw, 76, of Route 7, Lenoir, died this morning at a local hospital after an illness of one week. She was born in Caldwell County.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ted Pritchard of Route 2, Lenoir; four sons, Lloyd and Arthur Philyaw of Alexandria, Va., Lewis Philyaw of Route 1, Lenoir, and Claude Philyaw of Route 7, Lenoir; 26 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lawrence Coffey of Edgemont.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mountain View Baptist Church, where she had been a member, by the Revs. Benny McDonald and Claude Suddreth.

Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Teague, was born on 30 October 1878 in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC. He registered for the WWI draft on 12 September 1918 in Mecklenburg Co., VA.²⁰⁵³³ James died of broncho pneumonia on 20 May 1923 at the age of 44 at home in Mulberry Twp., Caldwell Co., NC and was buried at Greene Cemetery in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC on 30 May 1923.^20534,20535
