Obituary, News-Topic, Lenoir, Caldwell Co., OK, Oct. 17, 2005 Mary Philyaw Mary Ellen Coffey Philyaw, 61, of Franklin Place, Collettsville, passed away Thursday, Oct., 13, 2005 at Watauga Medical Center in Boone. She was born Nov. 30, 1943 in Caldwell County to the late Lester Claude Coffey and Mary Alice Philyaw Coffey. Mrs. Philyaw was retired from Thomasville Furniture Company. Survivors include her husband James Oral Philyaw of the home; three sons, Jeffery Philyaw of Collettsville, N.C., Terry Philyaw of Boomer, N.C., Dale Philyaw of Amarillo, Texas; one daughter Sandra Oliver of Hudson, N.C.; two brothers, Clarence Coffey of Lenoir, N.C., Cloyd Dale Coffey of Hudson, N.C.; four sisters, Rachel Philyaw of Hudson, N.C., Linda Triplett of Collettsville, N.C., Catherine Abernathy of Lenoir, N.C., Etta Mae Hamby of High Point, N.C.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2005, 2 p.m. in the Pendry's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Gragg and Rev. Terrell Goble officiating. Burial will follow in the J.B. Greene Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m., today, Oct. 15, 2005 at Pendry's Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Darin Philyaw, Dean Philyaw, Jeremy Philyaw, David Triplett, Todd Philyaw and Greg Philyaw. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Philyaw's honor to the Seby B. Jones Regional Medical Cancer Center, P.O. Box 2570, Boone, NC 28607.
