Gertie Mae Killian, age 95, of Wilson Creek community and Lenoir died Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Gateway Nursing Center. She was born June 4, 1915 in Caldwell County to the late Partee and Pearl Tolbert Coffey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Neal Killian; four brothers; and two sisters.

Mrs. Killian was a homemaker, avid gardener and a member of Edgemont Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Robert T. Killian and Clyde J. Coffey, both of Lenoir; one daughter, Mrs. Lil Hendricks and husband Gene of Lenoir; five grandchildren, Phillip Killian, Wayne Killian, Cecil Coffey, Roberta Cox and Scott Pritchard; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Floyd Boston. Interment will follow at Mortimer Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home and at the old home place after the interment.

Serving as pallbearers will be Phillip Killian, Wayne Killian, Luke Killian, Roy Cox, Henry Cox, Tim Owens and Scott Pritchard.
