Rev. Clyde Junior Coffey, age 85, of Brookshire Rd., Lenoir, passed away surrounded by his family, Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Caldwell UNC Health Care. He was born April 30, 1930, in Caldwell County to the late Gertie Coffey Killian. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a son, Cecil J. Coffey; and step-father, Rob Killian.

Rev. Coffey was retired from Thomasville Furniture after 28 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith and pastored at four Baptist churches.

Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Pansy Bolick Coffey of the home; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Crisp Coffey of Lenoir; one brother, Robert Killian of Wilson’s Creek; one sister, Lilly Pearl Hendricks and husband Gene of Concord; sisters-in-law, Ethel Bolick and Evelyn Coffey, both of Lenoir and Ruby Gore of Sylva; one grandson, Matthew Coffey of Lenoir; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Floyd Vines. Interment will follow at Cobb Hayes McLean Cemetery, Upton Community.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Wayne Killian, Philip Killian, Mike Coffey, Roy Coffey, Earl Mitchell and Russell Walsh.

Flowers are appreciated or memorial contriubtions may be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood St., Lenoir, NC 28645.

The family would like to especially thank his caregivers, Lori Newton and Sharon Loper, his doctors at the hospital, his nurse Wally, all the paramedics, EMT’s that have helped in the past and neighbors Loyd Gilbert and Russell Walsh.

Cecil Junior Coffey was born on 12 April 1953 in Caldwell Co., NC. Cecil died in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC on 3 September 2014 and his remains are presumed to have been cremated. A memorial service was held in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC at Evans Funeral Service Chapel on 6 September 2014.^45828,45829

Lenoir – Cecil J. Coffey, age 61, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at his residence. Cecil was born in Caldwell County on April 12, 1953 to Clyde and Pansy Bolick Coffey. He was married to Rebecca Crisp Coffey of the residence.

Cecil worked for more than 15 years at Broyhill’s Lenoir Furniture Corporation. He was a night line manager and worked with the ICT program and considered his students his other children and his other workers friends. In his spare time he enjoyed reading, fishing and working on his computer.

Other than his wife and parents he is survived by his son, Matthew Coffey and his aunts and one uncle.

A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 2:00 PM.
