He appeared in the census on 14 July 1860 in Pickens Co., GA.1840 He was a stone cutter in Pickens Co., GA. Eli appeared in the census on 9 September 1870 in Pickens Co., GA.1841 Eli died on 3 August 1874 at the age of 42 in Georgia and was buried at Long Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery in Marblehill, Pickens Co., GA.1842 In 1860 and in 1870, Eli was enumerated in Pickens Co., GA without his wife Susan and child Aaron. Susan and Aaron have not been found elsewhere in Georgia for 1860 or 1870. He married for a second time in 1872 to Frances Bradford and died before the 1880 census. His son Aaron first appears in a census record in 1880 when he was living with a Crockett family in DeKalb Co., GA. This seems to indicate that Susan died about the time of Aaron's birth and that he was perhaps farmed out to other family members while Eli pursued work as a stone cutter. Just months after Eli died in Aug., 1874, Frances Bradford Coffey gave birth to his son, Eli, Jr. Frances remarried c1877 and in 1880 Eli, Jr. lived with her and his step-father John Howell in Pickens Co. Eli Charles Coffey and Susan Tribble were married on 10 March 1859 in Pickens Co., GA.1843 Susan Tribble was born in 1840. Susan died in Pickens Co., GA in 1891 and was buried at Lithonia City Cemetery in Lithonia, DeKalb Co., GA in 1891 .1844 Eli Charles Coffey and Susan Tribble had the following children:

She lived with the Frederick Jackson family in Jasper, Pickens Co., GA on 9 August 1870.1845 Frances Elizabeth is buried at Long Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery in Marblehill, Pickens Co., GA. Her date of death is not known to me.1846,1847 |
